case studios understands design as an engagement with materials.

Known for its characteristic materials such as concrete, Yakisugi Burnt Wood, and hand-polished aluminum, the studio develops furniture and objects where structure, surface, and details express a clear, disciplined relationship to material logic.

Founded by a team of interdisciplinary designers with backgrounds in both visual practice and craftsmanship, case studios works across the disciplines of product design, interior architecture, and artistic installation with the goal of developing and realizing unique ideas.

The German design studio's focus is on the material, its properties, structure, and significance. The conscious use, selection, and refinement of unique and durable materials create objects that both reshape and highlight the original qualities of each material.

Case studios was born out of the desire for a space to realize concepts and ideas. Our interdisciplinary approach reflects the diversity of ways and methods we use to bring our ideas to life. The identity of case studios is particularly evident in the resulting interior design objects, our projects, and our events.

Directly in our studio, we create our products through precise craftsmanship and the highest standards of quality. This results in unique pieces and objects in exclusive editions that bring a sense of clarity, identity, and curated luxury into your home – through authentic materials, precise handwork, and a design language that endures.

Here, ideas are born, developed further, and directly implemented. Always with the highest quality standards. Custom designs and tailor-made customer projects are developed on-site by our team in close collaboration with our clients.

Our primary focus is on the materials we use and their processing – we want to pass on this commitment to quality. All our products are manufactured in our workshop and tested to the highest quality standards.

Through our event series case studios/FRIENDS, we make our concepts and ideas directly tangible. The focus here is on collaboration and community.

No mass-produced goods. No AI. No "perfection".

What is always at the heart of our work is creativity in general, as well as the dedicated work with the material, based on its respective properties and the associated design possibilities. Thus, deliberately imperfect characteristics are to be highlighted in order to turn every object into a unique piece.
While perfection must always play a role in producing high-quality and functional objects—details must be exactly to size and complex, precise elements must be accurate to the millimeter.
However, this kind of perfection must be subtle and unobtrusive. What should catch the eye at first glance instead is the material, its irregularities, a specific idea, a unique shape, or the patina that an object accumulates over the course of its life. In this way, things gain character. Remain timeless. Become something personal.

Custom Stainless Steel Wine Bar for Land Rover Defender

Custom-made stainless steel wine bar, custom-fitted and installed in a Land Rover Defender 110. Large ice drawer with drain - extendable via heavy-duty rails. Stainless steel counter/bar with a 20 cm overhang to the upper drawer when fully extended. Custom logo application on the stainless steel bar (laser-cut).
